October 15
Today we toured around where Ed grew up. We drove past the Pakenham Bridge, the only 5 arch bridge in North America. Then we went to Almonte and had lunch at Gemmill Park and just drove around the town to see how much it had grown.
We drove out to Union Hall, the land mark for the area (at least for us it is). After driving past the old house we went to the Dairy farm where Ed worked. Kevin and Carl were out on tractors so we decided to try find them and see if Deana was home. We found Kevin heading back so we chatted for a few minutes then followed him back to the house.
When we got back Karen(Kevins wife) took us into the barn so the kids could see the kittens (1 week old) and the calves. When Carl came back Ed went over to talk to him, Ed aked about his olfd tractors and Carl had no idea who Ed and couldn't figure out why he was asking so many questions. After a few minutes Ed told Carl he used to work for him - Well, Carl couldn't believe it he said you look so different.
Karen invited us to stay for dinner, Ed and Kevin did lots of catching up. After dinner we went to Carl and Deanas and had a really nice visit with very sleepy kids.
