New biker

Tayler received a second hand bike from our friend Lauren.
And for the first time since she was very little she became very interested in riding a bike and in one day mastered it!
When she was about 2 1/2 years old she fell off her bike and broke her. She has showed no interest in getting on a bike until these past few weeks. So when she arrived home from Prince George and was able to try her new bike she was so excited and is now roaring around everywhere with it. She comes in the house all red in the face and sweaty (as she says).

We are so proud of her for picking it up so fast and loving it!

Thank you for the bike Loey!

Front porch - Yippy!

While Rick, Jo Gisela, Helmut and Linnea were here, Ed Rick and Helmut put the front porch on - isn't it great!
Its so lovely - I can't wait to put my little table and chairs on it, so I can drink my tea and lookout over the front yard!

Hanging on the porch
We had such a great visit - as always! This was Giselas and Helmuts first visit up and I think they had a wonderful time exploring and helping out. Gisela was off picking wild blueberries with the kids and making a lovely cakes with them as well as super yummy meals (I almost got kicked out of my kitchen - which was fine with me ;-)). Ed, Rick and Helmut were putting up shelves in the shop and of course doing the front porch. We brought in the last of our hay, we went swimming, played new card games explored the property and just had a great visit.

Our Beautiful Garden

I'm not big on gardening - I'll say that right now! Which means when I do garden, its quick and not alot of thought put into it. My Mom had big beautiful gardens that were thoughtfully planned and carefully planted, me on the other hand - not thought and just stick it there and see what happens.....

Our vegetable garden is HUGE by my standards, half of it is potatoes of many different varieties and the other half - whatever seeds were left over from last year - zucchini, carrots lettuce, cabbage, beans, pumpkins and spinach.
I have to say for the little work I have put into it, most of the veggies are growing good and while Rick and Jo were here with her mom and uncle we had a whole meal from the garden.

Here is a look at a few of the veggies we have
Zucchini

Beans

Cabbage

Nasturtiums

I think this is a pumpkin

The whole garden - the potato plants in the background. Some are so tall  I almost lose Tayler!

Taylers Frogs

Tayler discovered these two little frogs swimming near her while she was floating on the air mattress in Bowron Lake.
I didn't think she would pick them up but as you can see she was having fun with them. She pushed them around for quite a while before hopped off the air mattress and swam away.

She looks so cute in this picture!!

Long Weekend Fun!

We spent BC Day with our friends Sue, Mike Annika and Lauren. We had so much fun! And we spent it at a wonderful BC historic site - BARKERVILLE!!!
We met Sue and Mike at Bowron Lake Lodge on Saturday evening, camping right on the lake - how nice it that!
View from our campsite!

SWIMMING - Whew its hot!

Goofing around the campfire

I love it - this guy in the buckboard just wandered up and down the streets all day
We spent Sunday in Barkerville. We took in everything we possible could - stage coach ride,  lunch, gold panning, theatre show, gold panning and shopping.

Stage coach horses they were so sweet

It was quite a climb to the back

Tay and Russ wanted to ride inside

Lunch at Wake up Jakes
My General Store - kids thought this was awesome!

WHEN can we goldpan- Dylan was sure he was going to find a nugget!  He found four flakes in the bottom when he was done - he thought that was pretty good!

Swirl it!!! get it going! the gold will settle on the bottom. Come on , swirl it!

The boys with Miss Wendle and her pound cake out of the stove behind them - and it was soooooooooooooooo good!

Tayler signing out of school
The girls, Mike and Sue wanted to go to school, so the boys and I wondered around the town. While in school Tay had to sit at the front because she was so small, Sue said she was so brave marched right to the front of the class and answered questions she was asked by the teacher and everything. So cute, she was full of stories when they were dismissed.
All the girls had to wear bonnets to school

Our gang!
We had soooooooooo much fun, we even came back the next day for another quick visit and a little more shopping!

So many pictures so little room!
