Prince George

Tayler and I were up in Prince George last weekend to surprise Sue, a very close friend.of mine. We had a great visit we toured around PG, went out for lunch and did a little sledding - Tayler was not very enthusiastic about it though, so we headed for home after about 30 minutes. When we flew in it was -26 and we we left it was -16 (which I think is considered fairly balmy to the -26). It was wonderful to see the snow, visit and drink tea all weekend. Yes, Ed and the boys were baching it but they did good- or so they say.

SNOW!!!

A couple days ago we painted our reindeer. We had brown paint everywhere and Tayler insisted on walking through the paint instead of around it. My friend Erin said she had to wash her floor anyway. Don't they look great!

Dec1 -Wow today it snowed! The kids were out right away trying to make a snowman. We went for a walk and they had snow ball fights with dad and the neighbours.

Tonight is the Truck parade - or convoy, as they call it. I think it is the best parade !!! We are going to watch it in fairfield at Eds cousin, Heathers and house. Can't wait!!!

Christmas preparations

Here we are making reindeer at Rona with our friends Erin and Dylan. We had a great day with them, they came for breaky in the morning, then we were building reindeer, then we trucked out to Sidney for the SANTA CLAUS parade - yahoo!!!

Pictures from Pender

On Nov 16 we all went for a sleepover at Marg and Teds. It rained all day saturday but we made the best of it, and had a great visit. Here are a few pictures - most are of Tay because she is in her hammy camera stage, unfortunately the boys turn and run when the camera comes out. In the picture of the boys the were trying to sneak up on a buck in the backyard.
I have to explain the braids - two days before we went to Pender Tayler decided to use Penetan cream as hair gel! It was a MESS she had dreadlocks for two days. I was really worried I would have to cut it because I didn't know how I was going to get it out. On our Goldstream field trip, one of the moms said massage baby oil into her hair, leave it 10 minutes then wash it. Well - it totally worked I couldn't believe it - but for the next few days Tayler had horribly greasey hair so I thought I would braid it and then it wouldn't look so bad.

Goldstream field trips

We went to Goldstream Park for a preschool field trip. The fish are spawning, so there are lots of dead fish!! "Hey mom, look theres another dead one. " This what I heard most of the time we were there. After the park person told the fish spawning story Russ was able to tell the males and females apart - I thought that was very perceptive.

WOW!!! How time flys

Wow I was just looking to see when I last updated, and, well, I have been a total slacker!!!

November has flown by, but I didn't realize how quickly until today.

It has been very busy (obviously). We have been traveling here and there - I went to vancouver at the beginning of the month to visit and high school friend. Momoko was an exchange student, from Japan, in High school and we became great friends. We have keep in fairly good contact considering the miles between us. When Ed and I got married Momoko traveled from Japan to be one of my bridesmaids. (she was only here for 3 days) I have visited her once in Japan. In 1998 I went with a work friend and had a fabulous time - aside from the culture shock. Anyway to make a long story short, Tony (her husband), TJ or Ryuku as he is known in japanese (her son) and Momoko were over visiting her husbands family, in Richmond. So I decided to take the kids over, by myself. We had a wonderful visit, other than it was way too short! This was the first time she had met Russ and Tay, and the first time I met Ryuku, so that made it even more special.

Halloween

We had a crazy afternoon and evening on Halloween but the kids had a ball.

After school we came home suited up and headed for the mall with a friend of ours and her two kids. We trick or treated there for an hour or so the headed to Matt and Leannes for dinner and more trick or treating.

This is Taylers first year for trick or treating, it didn't take long for the light to turn on and she was headed out on a mission for cnady. The First couple of people she had to check and see what they were putting in the her bag, then she was at he house right behind her brothers - with her hand extended and saying "TA TA"

Today is the first day we finally have no more candy on the house (well except some I have hidden for myself).

October 22 &23 Our trip

Wow we are getting to the end of our trip. Today we planned to go to the Agricultural farm in Ottawa, it was neat the kids really enjoyed it. We hit McDonalds for lunch then back out to Chris and Chriss, to get ready to visit one of Eds friends for dinner.

We had a great visit with Jason and the kids had a ball with all the toys.

October 23

We are headed to Smith Falls and Perth and back to the farm.

In Smith falls we met Brian at the Trian musuem and he gave us a private tour, it was really beautiful lots and lots of history. Then we headed over to the Hershey factory to get CHOCOLATE!!!!

We had lunch in Perth - I wish we had more time here it was so picturesque and beautiful. Now back to the farm to say goodbye and buy some of the best maple syrup ever! After visiting Kevin and helping a bit in the farm and saying bye to the kittens (wherever they are) we went to try visit one more friend. John lives near Clayton, so we drove in and he was just coming home from work, we had a great visit - too bad it was so short. Ed and John talked and talked I felt really bad saying we had to go. Unfortunately we still had to pack to leave at 5am for our flight home.

October 21 and 22 Our trip

Today we had a great visit with Brian and Kathy and their kids. They planned a brunch for this afternoon, Steven and Whitney were coming and Chris and Chris and the kids.

Today was a so nice to just hung out and enjoy family.

Nat and Tayler got along great- in fact she was feeding him pieces of bun and giggling away.

October 19 & 20 of Our Trip

Today we are going to New york City. I was so nervous but it was beautiful and REALLY busy. We did alot in one day! We took the train from Peekskill, into Grand central station (my pictures didn't turn out) then went to the Museum for lunch and to see the dinsaurs. It was amazing. After we had a quick look around (that was all teh kids could take) we wondered through Central Park, to Rockafellar Ctr, and Columbus Court (I think). Then we headed down to times Square and down to Little Italy for dinner. It was probably the fastest tour of NYC anyone has ever taken but we can now say we saw it and Vanessa was a great tour guide.

October 20/07

We had to head out early so we could be back in Ontario by dinner time. Talk about a LONG day in the car, but we did it and the kids were AWESOME! well they had their moments but who wouldn't. We drove into Brian and Kathys just before dinner time. We happliy joined then for a GREAT meal and had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, Tayler started teething the night before so she had a hard time getting to sleep but she slept through once she was.
