Fun at 100 Mile

Earlier this month we trekked up to the property, and met our friends from Prince George. It was a very short trip but it was worth the drive to see Sue and Mike and their family. They arrived 10 minutes before we did and were scoping out camping spots for their tent trailer. It was a very hot day so we visited under the shade of their oning (you know the shade and rain thing that comes off the side of the trailer) The kids had a great time playing in the dirt piles and in the cabin. During the day we had a thunderstorm in the distance and the kids seemed to disappear. When we found them they had retreated to the cabin - where it was safe to play - as per Dylan who is VERY nervous of thunder. He would slowly come out and check every few minutes to see if there was still thunder then head back to tell the others. In his mind he was keeping everyone safe.

We did lots of touring around the trails and showing them the views, we even took them up a few "billy goat" trails. We had tons of fun and were sad to see them drive out for home on Sunday night. we had some excitement after they left when Ed noticed smoke coming from the neighbours and the sirens were getting closer. Turned out the field at the road caught on fire and burnt a few trees. Obviously was under control quickly as it didn't last long.

Monday was a more bearable day heat wise so we wandered around and cut some trees down (dead ones - Very Dead ones) and packed fro the road home.

Pender visit

Well the last post was the day before we headed off to Pender and my goodness that was over 2 wees ago (I mean weeks;-)) - my how time flys.

Pender was alot of fun - extremely hot but lots of fun. We left Tuesday afternoon and arrived before dinner. We had hamburgers and then went for a walk through the forest, and out to the little park, where it was nice and cool. The kids had a great time - this was the first time Tayler was able to use any of the equipment - and she was the one we had trouble convincing to come home. We had our camping spot all picked out - nice big carpeted area between the couch and fireplace. Tayler was really restless that night but the boys slept through - aside from the few times Russell was trying to share my pillow and Dylan ended up under one of the side tables. (I long for the day I will sleep throught hte night;-))

The next day we decided to head off to the boat for some fishing. Ted and the boys had a great time catching and releasing little green ling cod from the dock. Cody was also enjoys himself with refreshing swims every 20 minutes in the ocean. We decided to stay for lunch as the breeze off the ocean made the marina much cooler than the house, so Marg headed back for sandwiches.

That evening we hung around the house and the kids were much more comfortable drawing and playing with their trucks since we had spent the day outside. The next morning Marg made us waffles with fruit salad and whip cream - my mouth waters thinking about it, and then it was back home to get ready for 100 mile and work.

I was thinking the other day that maybe doing this blog was alot of work and finding the time was hard, and maybe I would just can the whole thing and not worry about it anymore. Then I talked to some relatives in Clearwater (Hi Sharon) and I was told they check it from time to time to get the scoop on whats happening here. So now I have renewed interest and will continue writing posts here and there. Just remember that if you would like to write a comment or just say hello - click on the comments icon at the bottom of any post. Anyway thank you for - Keeping up with the Kelseys (this side at least) Take care everyone

Busy weekend

This past weekend started with an invite to go haying with friends of mom and dads. The kids LOVE this - jumping on bales, throwing hay around - staying up till all hours of the night just having fun. I was the one who said yes we will be there, I drove the truck and trailer with Tay and Ed did all the work, loading most of the bales, he was a little stiff and tired the next day.

Saturday Dylan was up fairly early which was amazing considering he didn't get to bed before midnight. He Tay and I rode our bikes to the store for groceries and then off to the parade for the Langford Summer Fest. (Russell slept through it, but we got some candy and chalk giveaways for him too ) That night wee had a great dinner and visit at grandmas. After that off to Keating to clean. Once again VERY late night.

Sunday was an adventure too - I worked in the morning and house cleaned in the afternoon then it was off to Jo and Ricks for a yummy supper. We had a wonderful visit - Jos parents are here from Germany so we had lots of catching up to do. We walked the kids down to Gyro park and had a play then wondered off back to the house - had more food - yum yum and off to home - once again well past 10pm. WOW what a weekend!! loads of fun and lots of work.

Today we are off to the park again to see a friend I haven't seen since high school, then its off to Pender for a couple days of Grandma and Grandpa Kelsey time. Talk to everyone when we get back - then its off to 100 MILE - YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Fun in the Sun

We have been setting up the sprinkler to water the kids, I mean lawn, the boys had a great time. Tayler walked through it by accident first and stood there with a stunned look on her face while she was getting soaked. She came around to enjoying after a while. After having fun in the sprinkler we lounged on teh porch for awhile and ate chocolate. This is one of Taylers favorite spots, Russells car seat, perfect size for a little girl.
