I did it!

Yesterday I had big ideas for baking and canning and I was so happy I accomplished them all, 5 loaves of bread (2 are missing I sent them home with Jason and Bev) 17 cans of salsa - mmmmmmmm so yummy! Cinnamon buns and a batch of cookies Tayler whipped up! And we had a great dinner of sweet and Sour Moose meatballs with Bev and Jay and the girls. WHEW!

I think I will spend the next few days out of the kitchen!

Canning and preserves

I have gotten the canning bug! A couple weeks ago I made salsa for the first time and everyone loves it, including the kids (go figure) so today I am making a double batch mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I have made a couple diffferent kinds of jams and Apple pie in a jar with apples from Clearwater.

And being that it is a rainy dull day I think I will make a couple batches of bread - oh and maybe some cinnamon rolls too- oh my mouth is watering now!

We are also having Jason and Bev and their girls for dinner - I better get a move on itf I plan to get all this done, we'll see how I make out.

Garden Bounty

Russ and Tay and I had a great day running errands checking out garage sales and visiting friends.

After the garage sales, second hand stores, laundry and grocery stops, we decided to finally drop in on Lloyd and Linda (our friend Jasons Mom and Dad) this afternoon, they live a whooping 5 miles away from us and we haven't had a chance to get down to see them, so with no other pressing things, we stopped for a quick visit which turned into a dinner invite and a huge garden harvest (which hardly put a dent in their huge garden) Russ and Tay had a ball picking carrots, digging potatoes and pulling beets. Grandpa Selle (which Lloyd suggested the kids call him - too cute) took them down to the creek and to see the turkeys in the back yard. It was a wonderful end to a fun day. 

Just a tiny harvest for us from their HUGE garden!  Carrots, Beets, Potaoes, Garlic, Cabbage, and rutabaga and of course the beautiful sunflowers.

Crazy week

This past week has been nuts. Ed and Dylan headed to the coast to deliver some stuff for Eds customers and cleanup the backyard of the old house and bring the little truck (timmy) and more of our stuff.  They left Monday morning and are finally coming back some time tonight - thank goodness! I joke that I have to be a big girl when Ed is away. So, that I was, and we did just fine, nothing happened and I didn't have to run the "big Gen" to charge the batteries back up - the sun took care of that! Thank goodness.

When they left they planned to head to Parksville and stay with my parents, (who are camping with My brother and his family) all went really well, except Ed lost his helper to my parents and there Dylan has stayed all week.  They have done all sorts of fun stuff including visiting the Parrot retreat and learning to skim board. You have no idea how jealous I am, but I'm glad he got to spend time with Auntie, Uncle Matt Hayley and Jessie and of course Grandma and Grandpa. 

Russ and Tay have been great all week with the craziness. While I was at work they stayed with a couple different friends and last night I had two young girls come and babysit here at the house.  I think they have had lots of fun despite the running around and late night drives home.

All in all it has been a good week, not a heck of alot got done but oh well theres lots of timef or that.
