Three little trees

See my Tree!

Hurray my tree!

Yay I have my tree
Our big tree! Beautifully decorated!
The kids have picked out their trees for the rooms, as you can tell from the pictures they are very excited at having done this. We were going through decorations yesterday looking for ones to put on their trees - ekkkk there may be a few holes - I don't have enough for 4 trees - looks like the imagination will be in full force for homemade ones!

Dolce Vitas Ornament swap

My friend Erin, From Pughs News, introduced me to Ornament Swapping last year. I loved it so much,
in November, I joined an online ornament swap to get into the spirit of Christmas early. I was paired up with Carin from Illinois (click on this link to see the ornaments Tay and I sent her). We received her parcel of ornaments a couple weeks ago (sorry I am very late getting this post done.) Tayler was super excited and wanted to open it in the car, I was able to hold her back till we got home.

These are the beautiful items I received, the snowman teapot - to represent my Love of Tea, The Swedish Horse for .... you guessed it my love of horses and of the Globe represents the contacts we have made all over the world through our blogs!
I love them so much and have hung them in special places on our tree!
Thank you so much Carin for swapping with me and Have a wonderful Christmas.

Evening of Christmas Fun!!!

Last weekend as the annual Christmas tree hunt! This year we spiced it up by having a Graham Cracker House building contest (no one was judged though as they were all so great!)
Beverly and Jayson came with their girls, Lloyd and Linda came (Jays parents) and Frank and Loretta (Bevs parents) Ed had the tractor and trailer ready as soon as they all arrived and off we went for the perfect trees
Tayler, Bev, River, Cora and Linda riding on the trailer

First tree found - turned out to be the tree for the school Christmas concert and then it came back to our house to serve as our tree - more pictures to come through the season

With three trees on the trailer all the kids piled on and we headed back to the house for Hot Chocolate, Mulled Apple Juice, Chai tea and Coffee, and of course BIG Chili and Buns dinner
Graham Cracker house building - not as easy as it looks! Keep in mind all these Dads and grandpas have built one or many houses - this was more of a challenge.
Ed and Tays had dormers - crazy Daddy - Tay kept saying can I decorate it NOW!!!
Russ and his house !!! - When can I eat it!!!!!
Dylan decorating and eating at the same time!

New snow

This morning we woke up to 4 inches of new snow. Ed was out plowing all morning and the kids were sledding and building snow forts. And I was baking and staying cozy inside!

I'm going to make a mini  one Mom - I can barely make a big one why make a smaller one ! But he did it!

One for each window.

Updates to the house

Handrailings along the walkway upstairs. Still needs top handrail and endposts, so nice to have a real one instead of the 2x4s we tacked up months ago
I took the picture above fromt he base of the stairs, the kitchen is below with the door way to the boys rooms. Above is the doorway to the bathroom and to the upper left is the doorway to our room

Wall below the stairs painted and ready for more handrails. The dinig room wall, below left is finished too.

Russ helping paint the mudroom he got the akward spot but as you can see from the smile he was loving it!
Little bit by bit things are coming along. Ed has been doing drywall and mud in the evenings while I am working, I come home to something new almost every night.

Okay Hayley these are for you!!!

I received an email from my lovely little niece today, telling me I needed to get more pictures up so she can see whats going on up here!  Sorry for the delay Hayley I will post today and schedule some to come out this week too!
