Moms Garden Cottage

I have to show everyone my Moms Cottage. This is one of the highlights at Grandma and Grandpa Mounces house. The kids know all the outside toys are on the porch anything from bubble blowing stuff, to crochet, to baseball, with whiffle balls of course.
My Mom has had many a garden tea and dinner in and around the Cottage.

I still love going in and looking around at all the little knick knacks and keepsakes. Mom finds all sorts of things in their travels.
Theres even a working woodstove to keep everyone one warm!

The door frame keeps a record of the all the grandkids heights, its funny to look at the marks and compare them to the kids now, oh how they have grown.

One day I want a cottage in my garden!

Spring Break

The kids had a 2 week spring break this year. They were so excited for NO SCHOOL!!! and no getting up early! The first week Ed and I worked at the shop, the kids played together and came over to help once in a while, to earn money - its all about the money right now. The second week we went to Victoria to visit friends and family.
Me and Grandma and me and my cousin Jessie
Hayley hamming it up for the camera
Dylan and his friends Ethan and Travis had a great time playing

Russell with his buddies, Braeden and Aiden, playing at David Cameron School in Langford

Celebrating "Little" Dylans Birthday. We missed his party a couple weeks ago so we decided to celebrate again. He had no problem with it!!!

Cameron came over for a play the afternoon before we left, they had so much fun. We went shopping together later that afternoon, but when we had to leave Cameron was not happy about it. Tayler is doing her best to cheer him up!

Hello

Hello everyone - we are so excited about coming to see everyone!

Friday morning - AHHHHHHHHH more snow

These horses live at the end of our road, there are about 12 of them, all different colors. We had to stop and say hello and take a few pictures

After my post the other day of the melting snow and the grass showing we woke up to snow on Friday morning. It snowed most of the day, by the evening it had warmed up and the snow was already melting. Today we are back to hardly any snow and the grass is showing again!

Sunday Morning at DRT Springs

This morning I was up bright and early (for a Sunday). The light woke me up, as it always does, coming through the windows at the back of the house. The last few mornings have been very foggy and cold, but today the sky was full of whispy clouds and streaming sunlight. I went downstairs to make a cup of tea - my morning wake up. As I was sitting waiting for the water to boil, Shayleigh - with all her morning energy, was racing around the house chasing anything from rolls of tape to dogfood, that she gets out of her dish and proceeds to throw across the floor.

I tried to send her outside while I waited for my tea to steep, but she was having no part of that.
So, tea cup in hand I went outside with her and Cody, so they wouldn't wake anyone else up. As you can see she is FULL of P & V in the morning!

The birds are singing and chirping all around. It was really peaceful. The temperature this morning is -4 so all the puddles have a thin layer of ice, I still love stepping on the ice and watching it crack, thats the kid inside me.
After I took this picture Shayleigh put her paw beside my foot and cracked the ice too.

The kids and I have been draining Lake Kelsey. After three days, it has finally receded to the size of a large puddle. Soon I will be able to bring the car back in and park it beside the house. Right now, when the sun comes out and the temperature rises, the mud is so deep I am afraid I will get it in, but I won't be able to drive it out.
This will soon be our front lawn. Last fall we spread a mixture of grass seed on it, and this year I bought a couple packs of wildflower seeds, I can't wait to throw them out there too. I can already picture it, all the color of the flowers mixed with different shades of green. And, I will have beautiful flowers to decorate my tables.
This is my future veggy garden. If you use ALOT of imagination you will see my peas, beans, potatoes, carrots, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, pumpkins, squash, parsnips (much to everyone else disguist) Oh and don't forget the VERY VERY VERY Tall fence to keep the deer and other veggy eating critters out!
