Field Trip and Kindergym

In the last week and half we have been busy doing the usual but we have also gone on a preschool field trip to Babes honey farm (very interesting) and out to kindergym. This evening I went to a healthy eating info session to get more ideas on how to get the kids to eat vegies and things. Also ideas for Dylans lunch - to keep him interested. I am half packed for our trip and today I got a few more things out of the way (more memory for the camera, maps, gum , candies (for the plane) and had a nice visit with Grandpa in Sidney.

This week is getting busier and busier - I preschool meeting tomorrow night as well as getting the boys to and from school and having our friend "Little" Dylan over for a play. Thrusday is my prep day for thanksgiving dinner on friday. Yes, we are a week late, my parents have been down car junk (teehee Dad) and craft shopping in Wash. for the past week so we decided to post pone our dinner till Friday. And Saturday is departure day (YAHOOO!!) we leave at 2 pm. There are still lots of things to do before Saturday and I hope I don't forget anything important on Saturday!!! LISTS Lots of LISTS.

Anyway here are few pictures from the field trip, unfortunately Dylan didn't come with us, but I think next time I will bring him (he would have loved the honey farm trip)

Take care

Fall has set in

You can definately tell that fall has set in. It has been cooling off for the last few weeks, it has been raining off and on most days and its getting dark at 5:30 or 6 now. This is my favorite time of year. I love cozying up by the fire, hanging out inside baking something, walking in the rain and watching the wind blow (not too hard though that kinda scares me)

Tomorrow is walk to school day at Glenlake (we try walk most days - but lately we have been dragging our heels in the morning) we all meet up at 8:15 walk up to the school and tehn Kelly races home to get Russell to school for 9:15. Ed just shakes his head. The other day I went out the door at top speed with just Dylan, came home and Ed is leisurely drinking his coffee, he says let me know when you are leaving, picked up Tay and Russ and said - bye. I think I was a blur that morning.

On Fridays while Russ is in school too, Tay and I try to do some fun stuff for her and I. So last week we decided to try a free kindergarten program at one of the local schools. We went with Erin and her sons - Dylan and Sawyer, and Lil and her daughter (oh no he name escapes me right now) Anyway it was fun but it was too crazy for me. There was about 12 kids and 8 adults, which should have been fairly good, but not for me. Anyway that aside I think we will try something different this week.

Helping Dad

Tayler loves to help dad, especially running the forklift. As soon as she hears Ed start it, she is calling him and running toward him so he can hoist her up.

Tomorrow we are going to go to a starter preschool for her with some friends. We went to kindergym last friday (while the boys were at school) and she had a great time.

I hope all is great with everyone take care Love Kelly and the gang

Up and Running

I never thought having our internet out of service for a while would be a problem - but holy - it was only 6 days but I felt really cut off. Its mind boggling how much information access you loose when you are unable to get on the internet. That aside we are up and running again with High speed - no more living in the dark ages of dial up. (It took 12 minutes to upload one picture - most of the reason there was only a couple pictures on each post) crazy!!!

On Sept 2 we celebrated another wedding - a close friend of mine married in the tiny church in Metchosin and had a beautiful reception at the Royal Colwood Golf Course _ the pictures above of the boys are there. We were walking in and they were watching the people on the putting green. One of the gentlemen noticed and asked if they would like to hit the ball into the hole. It was so cute - though we did have to replace a divit - well we turned the grass back over stomped on it and quickly walked away. - Way to posh for us!!!
We also had our last camping trip of the year - the kids and I and Grandpa drove to Campbell river to meet Mom and Dad and Matt and Leanne - the kids had a great time. Grandpa was very happy to have 6 of his 7 GREAT grandchildren with him. We had a wonderful time.
Now we are back to school routine again, only now it get up early and get moving. Dylan has adjusted very well to full days at school - he has made some new friends and aside from the grumpy mornings all is going well. Russell loves preschool - he has made lots of new friends to and really loves to treasure hunt in the playground for sparkling things (little treasures) Tayler and I spend the 2 hours running around getting things done while I only have two little feet following me instead of 6. Soon I hope to slow down even more and spend quality time with her. This Monday is our first field trip for Russells preschool out to the apple orchards - it will be so much fun.

I hope everyone is well
Take care Hugs all around Kelly and the gang

Trollies and Blackberries

I haven't been very good at taking pictures lately as you may have noticed but here are a couple one from teh Langford trolley. This is a community bus that has been fashioned after the San Fran trollies (well at least I think it has) we rode up to the Millstream Village did some shopping got back on an hour later and rode it up Bear mountian and back to the mall. It was great fun and the kids loved it.

We have been picking lots of blackberries lately too, we have made a cobbler and it was so yummy. Soon when we have enough we are going to make jam.

I am going to run I want to do some quilting before bed. Bye for now!

August Activities

August has been so busy, most of the time I couldn’t remember what day it was.
The Monday after Rick and Jos wedding we went to their house for lunch, it was nice to visit again and have a relaxing afternoon. A couple days later Christine and I took the kids to Butterfly World with Taya, Ollie and Greg (Jos sister and family). We had a great time, the kids loved pointing out the butterflies and trying to catch them. We also found flamingos and a Kiwi (I think) For lunch we went to the Red Barn and had a sandwich (which was a new experience for Taya and Ollie)
The following Sunday we had a huge family dinner – 23 people Kelseys and Mounces combined – it was loads of fun and the weather was great so everyone lounged outside and visited.
We took the kids into Victoria and wandered around, then went over to Heathers (Eds Cousin) for tea. When we arrived Jeff (her brother) was there from Calgary so it was nice to see him and catch up. We had lunch in Goldstream park with Leanne and the girls, then walked up to see the waterfall. Thrusday Christine headed for Pender and we started packing for 100 mile. I worked that evening – came home finished packing so we could be off on the 7 am ferry.
We met Jeff again on the ferry to Vancouver, so we hung out in the kiddy area (I’m sure that was a first for Jeff – teehee) We met up with Christine coming over from Pender and headed for the cabin. When we arrived my friend Sue was setting up her trailer for the weekend (it was her birthday weekend so she came down to hang out) Ed was able to get the ceiling in the cabin put up with the help of Uncle Brian (they came in the driveway as Christine was headed out for Calgary – what timing!!!) We left a couple days later but not without having a breaky at Timmys with Brian and Kathy – then they headed north and we headed south for home. It was all going good until I noticed my purse was nowhere to be found. We called up to Tim Hortons and they had it waiting for me. When we got home I made a bunch of phone calls to couriers to organize getting it back .But we decided the bus would be the quickest, within 24 hours it was back all intact (thank goodness)
Since arriving home, we have been going full tilt. Both of us have been working a lot not to mention planning a bridal shower, going to my cousins wedding, and trying to keep up our routine of going for walks and out to the library and to the park.
Dylan and I have been school supply shopping for grade 1, next week I have to get some stuff for Russells school too. I think they are both looking forward to it.
Anyway that is the shorten version of August, now maybe I can keep up better – well who knows with school starting we will be busy going back and forth to two schools – should be interesting.
