We are off again!

We are headed back to 100 Mile House and our new digs with most (no not all - that would be too organized - and that we are not!!!) of our belongings in two trailers and my car. The truck has more of Eds machines and tools, and just enough room to pick up our new stove and heaters.

We have had the most exhausting visit/packing/working/delivering/cleaning trip ever. We have visited as many people as we can fit in and thank to those of you that quickly stopped or let us do the same. I came down thinking how are we ever going to get everything done and we are going back, only one day late (our true Kelsey fashion) with everything done.

I am now headed to bed to dream about a much less hectic drive home and more relaxing pace of life - I hope!

Happenings week of Aug 16-22

- Mike and Ed finished sheeting second floor

- placed beam for deck with crane

-built deck and craned into position, there are 4 of these ladders that were craned down. The deck runs across the back of the house

- Mom and Dad arrived for the week!!

-Larry and Sharon came for a visit and stayed for dinner. Mom prepared five wonderful dinners and super yummy desserts while they were up visiting. We were quite lost when they had to leave and we had to start cooking for ourselves again!

-Kids stayed overnight with Grandma and Grandpa in the trailer - they were so excited and they had such a great time!

-we have a pet deer - well sort of she is staying very close to the house, but very shy!

-Kids have been fishing in LacLeHache

-Dad has helped ALOT this week!!! Thank you so much!!!!

-Took Mom and Kids to 150 Mile to Thyme for tea - had a lovely time! Unfortunately it was VERY hot that day and the kids complained alot about being hot and thirsty. I gave them my camera to keep them busy - but holy I spent about 1/2 hour going through the 70 or so pictures - you do what you have to do - all in all is was really nice.

-Kids invited to a b-day of one of the local kids in Forest Grove. We had a great time meeting kids and parents - this will make the first day of school a little easier for the boys! They had a great time even though it took them about 3 hours for the boys to start talking to the other kids. Tay on the other hand was right in on all the goings on with all the kids.

-Tay and I drove to Vancouver to see Momoko and her family. We had a great visit - very quick but so glad we came down!

Happenings from the week of Aug 9-15

-Finished front walls - We have a front door!

-made bunks in cabin for the kids

- Russ and I made pinwheels one afternoon, that evening we had a big thunder storm. When it was over there was the most beautiful rainbow.

-I made Tay and Russ little trucks out of wood. They have had so much enjoyment out of them.

-We had our first dinner in the dining room of the house - very rustic but a huge milestone!

-Kids built birdhouses with Ed.

- Marg and Ted have gone home for a week to check up on their house and boat. And enjoy so simply luxuries after 24 days away from home.

-Ed and I started second floor sheeting.

-MIKE AND SUE and the girls arrived - yahoo!!!

Highlights From Aug 1-8

- Floor joists for first floor placed.

- Found wild blueberries everywhere -mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

- Surprise visitors - we had a great visit with Larry and Sharon and Uncle Mel

- Finished sheeting first floor


- Stood walls for first floor with the crane.

- Unfortunately Rick and Jo had to head home. We thank them for their help and look forward to seeing them soon.

- built a little porch for the cabin

Dylans Calling!

Dylan is so proud of this video - and so he should be! While I was taking this, Mark (the owner of the excavator) was standing beside me proud as can be. I was almost crying, as I watched the concentration in his face and the determination to do it right. I am still in awe over the fact that my little guy could run this big machine and that Mark put his trust and confidence in Dylan and knew he could do it.

Dylan has decided he will drive an excavator for a living.

Thank you Mark for making this little guys dream come true.

Highlights from last week of July

-We arrived July 27 with Crane truck and car with trailer. We were greeted by Marg and Ted and Rick and Jo.

- Picked up most of the lumber for the house.

- Framed in all basement walls

- Septic tank arrived, weepers started.

-Dylan had a great time helping do the piping for the weepers.



-Was a HOT Week - I took the kids to Ruth lake for a swim and Ed took the boys to the river to cool off too.
